Illustration
Conceptual (also known as Editorial)
Typically, this type of artwork is created to visually communicate or imply an idea or message through drawings, without having to state it literally. The objective is to interpret or comment on the subject of the text, often conveying tone, emotion, or abstract ideas, in a way that may not be easily expressed through words alone.
Applications for Conceptual Illustration include: supporting articles or features in magazines, newspapers, online articles, and blogs (editorials about politics, culture, or social issues); custom illustrations for logos, mascots, or branded content; artwork used on T-shirts, mugs, posters or other package design; Book covers, children's book art. This form of illustration is perhaps the most enjoyable to produce and requires abstract concept development beyond more literal illustrations.
