TJR Advisors, LLC was founded in 2009 to provide planning and management services to the transit industry. Through its founder and principal, Ted J. Rieck, the firm brings over thirty years of industry experience gained from transit agencies and contractors including nationally recognized transportation architecture and engineering firms. Ted is also a former general manager of the Indianapolis transit system.

TJR Advisors, LLC is based in Overland Park, Kansas.

ABOUT TED RIECK

Mr. Rieck, with more than 30 years of transit experience, is the Founder and Principal of TJR Advisors, LLC. Some highlights from his career:

Served as Director of Planning and National Sales Manager for Mayflower Contract Services, Inc. where he was responsible for corporate operations planning and troubleshooting as well as business development of privately operated fixed route and paratransit service contracts.

Served a successful tenure as General Manager of the Indianapolis transit system (Metro) where he was responsible for 430 employees and 180 vehicles. Through service development and innovative marketing, ridership increased consistently at Metro for the first time in 15 years.

Ted has completed over 50 transit planning and management projects as a consultant for top ENR transportation consultingfirms. These projects range from corridor level to metropolitan regions to entire states. He also has extensive background in the planning and conceptual design stages for the development of transit passenger and operation facilities. He has successfully prepared facility feasibility studies in Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, North Carolina and Tennessee working with state DOTs and the Federal Transit Administration.

Ted holds an AICP and has two master’s degrees; Master of City and Regional Planning from The Ohio State University and the Master of Business Administration from Rockhurst University.
